Qualifying as a doctor in 1990 from Edinburgh University Medical School, his higher surgical training took place in the Northwest Thames Region which included specialist training at the Chelsea & Westminster, Middlesex, Hammersmith & Royal Marsden Hospitals.
He joined The Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation in 2004 as a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in Laparoscopic, Gallbladder, Hernia and Weightloss Surgery. He has served as Clinical Director of Surgery for three years and currently heads up The Weight Loss Surgical Unit.
